The ruling on one who habitually prays four rak'ahs with a single taslim after Jumu'ah

A message was received for the program from Shubra, sent by our brother (M. Q. A. Al-Ghamdi), as he says. Our brother says: We have a teacher of Egyptian nationality who is educated and cultured in religion, as far as we know. He does not leave the mosque during the times of prayer, but when he prays Jumu'ah with us, he stands and prays four rak'ahs together without taslim between them, and then prays two rak'ahs after that. Is this prayer valid or not?
Answer: This requires detail: If his intention is to pray Zuhr as a precaution, and he considers Jumu'ah insufficient for him, as many people do in many countries, saying that if there are multiple Jumu'ah prayers in a town, one fears that some of them may not be valid, and therefore they pray Zuhr as a precaution along with Jumu'ah, this is a religious innovation (bid'ah) and is not permissible. He must repent to Allah for this.
Likewise, all those who engage in this matter, those who pray Zuhr after Jumu'ah, this is all an error and a religious innovation (bid'ah). It is obligatory for them to repent to Allah for this. And when the reasons for establishing a second, third, or fourth Jumu'ah prayer are found in a wide and dispersed town, there is no harm in that, and there is nothing wrong with it.
It is permissible to establish two or more Jumu'ah prayers in the same town if it is vast and dispersed, or if the mosque becomes too crowded for its people and they need a second mosque, or if there were two mosques and they became too crowded and the Muslims needed a third in the city. All of this is permissible. And when the justification for multiple Jumu'ah prayers exists, there is no basis for praying Zuhr; rather, this is among the religious innovations (bid'ah) and among the excessive strictness and exaggeration in religion that has no basis.
However, if his intention is that this is a regular voluntary prayer (rawatib), as came in the hadith from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Sahih Muslim 881a, then there is nothing wrong with that. But it is better that he prays it two by two; this is the better option, not reciting them as four in a row. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Ibn Majah 1319Sahih (Darussalam), and in the other wording: Sunan Abi Dawud 1295Sahih (Al-Albani). So it is better that he prays two by two, four rak'ahs after Jumu'ah. And if he prays two in his house after Jumu'ah, that suffices, and if he prays four, it is better. As for the other two, I do not know a basis for them except that it came from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to pray four after Jumu'ah in Makkah, then two. Perhaps this man heard the report of Ibn 'Umar and prayed this way, because Ibn 'Umar mentioned that from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So we do not know the reasons for that. And if he does it because of the hadith of Ibn 'Umar that he heard, there is nothing wrong with that.
As for the preserved thing we know from the Sunnah, it is that one prays four after Jumu'ah in the mosque or in his house. And if one is content with two in his house, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do, there is nothing wrong with that. And if this man prayed it because he heard about Ibn 'Umar that he prayed four and two, there is no harm in that. But it is better that he prays two by two, with a taslim after every two, not reciting the four in a row.

إذا صلى أحدكم الجمعة فليصل بعدها أربعاًThe night prayer is (to be offered) two by two.
صلاة الليل مثنى مثنىPrayer by night and day should consist of pairs of rak'ahs.
