The questioner : May Allah reward you. This questioner says: It happened to me four years ago, an accident where I ran over a man and he died, and traffic decided that the fault was shared between me and him, and I paid the full blood money to his family, so is it obligatory for me to fast two consecutive months?

The Shaykh : And you paid what? You paid what?

The questioner : The blood money.

The Shaykh : The blood money. You say it, and I returned it to you and said that it was with leniency.

The questioner : And I paid the full blood money to his family, so is it obligatory for me to fast two consecutive months?

The Shaykh : If a person kills another by mistake, it is obligatory upon him first to free a slave, and if he does not find one, then to fast two consecutive months. This is mentioned in the words of Allah in His saying, the Exalted:
And whoever kills a believer by mistake - then the freeing of a believing slave ومن قتل مؤمنا خطأ فتحرير رقبة مؤمنة
[An-Nisa 4:92]
to His saying
And whoever does not find [one or cannot afford to buy one] - then [instead], a fast for two months consecutively, [seeking] acceptance of repentance from Allah. And Allah is ever Knowing and Wise. فمن لم يجد فصيام شهرين متتابعين توبة من الله وكان الله عليما حكيما
[An-Nisa 4:92]
. Based on this, if the fault is shared between you and this killed person, then it is obligatory for you to perform the expiation, and it is obligatory for the killed person as well to perform an expiation. It is not said that you both share in the expiation together, so that one of you fasts a month and the other fasts another month, because the expiation is not divided. Yes.

The Shaykh : Sit down, sit down. May Allah keep you safe. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. And if the number of those who died was more than one?

The Shaykh : If the number of those who died in the accident was more than one, then he owes an independent expiation for each of them. Yes.

The questioner : Oh Shaykh, and if...

The Shaykh : Give this to the one who found it in the Haram. Give it to him.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Give the trusts in the Haram. Yes.

The questioner : Your Eminence, the Shaykh.

The Shaykh : There is one who asked, saying: "Third grade, intermediate, I don't know what he is saying." One asked as a follow-up on the expiation for zihar, the expiation for killing. Where is the questioner?

The questioner : ... .

The questioner : He says: "The book, review it..."

The Shaykh : I reviewed the book, but I am not the one who authored it. I reviewed it only for errors. As for the opinion, it is the opinion of its author. That is, my review of the books, for example, does not mean that I approve of everything in them, but it means that if I find an error, I correct it only. But if there is another opinion that some scholars held, for example, I do not address it.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : No, the correct view is that there is no riba (usury or interest) except in the categories mentioned by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or what is like them. Yes, my brother.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Oh Allah, my brother, give us a question.
