Whispers regarding ritual purity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is similar to a man who is prone to doubt; when he performs ablution, he does not remain for even a short time without doubting whether he has broken his state of purity or not. Listen, my son. He said: No, this doubt is not binding. He then says, "In the name of Allah," and goes to urinate or defecate, or passes wind, in order to be rid of this whisper. Is this method correct or incorrect? It is incorrect, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) described the cure for this ailment. He said:
He should not return (from prayer) unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell (of passing wind). لا ينصرف حتى يسمع صوتاً أو يجد ريحا
Sahih Muslim 361
We say, my brother, this whisper does not harm you. Even if you were ninety-nine percent certain that you remained in a state of purity and one percent uncertain, you are still in a state of purity. You are in a state of purity. My brothers, the religion of Islam wants its followers not to be in anxiety or hardship, but rather to be at peace. So, when you doubt while in a state of ablution whether you have broken it or not, what do you do? Do you go and break it just to be certain that you have broken it? No, leave that doubt and build upon what? Build upon the original state, which is the certainty that you have not broken it. This last issue is also one that many people suffer from. Many people may perform ablution ten times for a single prayer because every time they perform it, they doubt whether they have broken it or not. So we say, praise be to Allah, if you doubt whether you have broken your state of purity or not, what are you? Pure or not pure? Pure. Leave the doubt, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He should not return (from prayer) unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell (of passing wind). لا ينصرف حتى يسمع صوتا أو يجد ريحا
Sahih Muslim 361
