What is the ruling if a husband and wife delay pregnancy and use contraceptives such as pills and medications?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If a husband and wife see a benefit in delaying pregnancy, what is the ruling on that? And what about the contraceptives used, such as the IUD and pills?

The Shaykh : There is no doubt that contraceptives, whether pills or medications, are contrary to what is prescribed and contrary to what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wants for his Ummah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wants his Ummah to increase in number, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Marry women who are loving and very prolific, for I shall outnumber the peoples
Sunan Abi Dawud 2050Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
And Allah the Exalted bestowed upon the Children of Israel the blessing of multitude, saying:
and made you more numerous in manpower
[Al-Isra 17:6]
, and Shu'ayb reminded his people of their multitude, saying:
when you were few and He increased you
[Al-A'raf 7:86]
.
Any attempt to reduce the population of the Muslim Ummah is nothing but a deception by the enemies of the Muslims, whether they are hypocrites who pretend to be Muslim or disbelievers who openly declare enmity toward the Muslims.
However, sometimes dire necessity calls for reducing childbirth because the mother cannot bear it and it causes her harm. In that case, we say: there is nothing wrong with it, and one should take the lesser of two harms. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) practiced coitus interruptus during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he did not forbid it. Although the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about coitus interruptus, he said:
It is the hidden form of infanticide
. This indicates that although it is permissible, there is some dislike in it.
On this occasion, I would like to point out a phenomenon that was mentioned to us: many midwives or obstetricians in hospitals insist that delivery be done via a procedure known as a C-section. I fear that this is a plot against the Muslims, because as more deliveries are done this way, the skin of the abdomen weakens, pregnancy becomes dangerous for the woman, and she becomes unable to bear it.
Some people from private hospitals told me that many women were presented to hospitals and it was decided that a C-section was necessary, but when they came to this private hospital, they gave birth naturally.
More than eighty cases were mentioned in about a month, or less, or slightly more. This means that the matter is serious and one must be alert to it; one must be alert to it.
And it must be known that childbirth necessarily involves pain and necessarily involves hardship.
His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship
[Al-Ahqaf 46:15]
It is not the case that as soon as a woman feels labor, she goes and delivers the baby so that she does not feel it.
Therefore, natural childbirth is better than delivery, whether by C-section or otherwise. But yes, if there is unusual hardship, then she goes and delivers, and she should be wary of C-sections; she should be wary of them as much as she can. Yes.
