How can we ensure that our deeds are pure for the sake of His face, the Exalted, without arrogance, showing off, or boasting?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : How can we ensure that our deeds are pure for the sake of His face, the Exalted, without arrogance, showing off, or boasting?

The Shaykh : The way to achieve this is for a person to worship Allah, hoping for the reward of Allah, not hoping that any person among the people will praise him or treat him kindly, so that he does not show off in his prayer, for example.
Second: He should know that the servants of Allah will not benefit him except with something that Allah has written for him, and they will not harm him except with something that Allah has written upon him. When this is the case, he does not care whether they know about his worship or not, and whether they praise him or not. However, Satan may whisper to a person when he intends to perform an act of worship, saying to him, "You are doing it for the sake of showing off," so he leaves it. This is part of Satan's deception of him. It is obligatory for him, when he feels this, to say, "I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan," and to continue in his worship. By following this path, what he finds in his heart of fear of showing off will disappear. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good. From the questions of the questioner, he says: O honorable Shaykh.
