Explanation of the Book of Ablution, the Full Ritual Bath, Menstruation, and Dry Ablution-03a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Musaddad narrated to us, saying: Isma'il narrated to us, saying: Khalid narrated to us from Hafsah bint Sirin from Umm Atiyyah, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them regarding the washing of his daughter:
Start the bath from the right side and from the parts which are washed in ablution. ابدأن بميامنها ومواضع الوضوء فيها
Sahih al-Bukhari 1256
.

The Shaykh : Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) was among the women who washed the dead, and she had a significant role in many places of the Sunnah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
They began with her right side ابدأن بميامنها
This is the evidence.
And the places of ablution on her ومواضع الوضوء منها
This means the four limbs. For this reason, the scholars said that it is recommended when washing the dead to begin first by washing the private parts and cleaning them, and then to perform a complete ablution, except that one does not put water in his mouth or nose. Because if it enters his mouth and nose and then his stomach, it may stir up what is still. And you know that the dead person, may Allah grant us and you a good ending, has nothing that can hold things, so the water descends and then exits with the place of exit.
For this reason, they said that instead of rinsing the mouth and snuffing the nose, one wets a cloth with water and rubs his mouth with it and cleans his nose without putting water in them. Then, after that, he washes his head, and there should be suds from soapwood beaten with water. He takes the foam of the soapwood and washes the head with it, then washes the body of the dead person with the rest of the soapwood.
But he says:
They began with her right side ابدأن بميامنها
And on this basis, one begins when washing the entire body.
