Is it obligatory for one who passes gas or farts to leave the mosque?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it obligatory for one who frequently passes gas or farts to leave the mosque...?

The Shaykh : Yes, we require any person whose odor harms the people to leave the mosque.

The questioner : ...But if he is a traveler or something similar, and he sits in the mosque and has no house, do we say it is obligatory for him to leave the mosque now so that he does not harm the angels?

The Shaykh : No, not in every case. This person is sleeping; in any case, there is nothing required of the sleeping person. That is, if he passes gas while sleeping, there is nothing required of him. The Companions used to sleep in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
