The reciter: Sa'd ibn Hafs narrated to us, saying: Shu'ayb narrated to us from Yahya from Abu Salama that 'Ata ibn Yasar informed him that Zayd ibn Khalid informed him that he asked 'Uthman ibn 'Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), saying:
what do you think if a man has intercourse with his wife but does not ejaculate? `Uthman (رضي الله عنه) said: Let him do wudoo’ as for prayer, and wash his private part. And `Uthman (رضي الله عنه) said: I heard it from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) I asked ‘Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه), az-Zubair, Talhah and Ubayy bin Ka`b about that and they told him to do the same thing.
أرأيت إذا جامع فلم يمن ؟ قال عثمان : يتوضأ كما يتوضأ للصلاة ويغسل ذكره، قال عثمان : سمعته من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم ، فسألت عن ذلك عليا والزبير وطلحة وأبي بن كعب رضي الله عنهم فأمروه بذلك .
