When the deceased is placed in the grave, does a caller shout at the top of his voice just as the mu'adhdhin calls?

The questioner : We have a custom, which is: when the deceased is placed in the grave, a caller shouts at the top of his voice exactly as the mu'adhdhin calls. Is this correct? Please inform us; may Allah reward you.
The Shaykh : This is not correct; rather, this is one of the religious innovations (bid'ah) that people have introduced when burying the deceased. One person goes down into the grave or stands on the edge of the grave, then recites the full adhan or limits it to the first four takbirs. All of this is a religious innovation (bid'ah). What is prescribed (mashru') when burying the deceased is for the one who buries him, the one who places him in his grave, to say only: "In the name of Allah and upon the religion of the Messenger of Allah", and not to add to this. Once the deceased is buried and the burial is complete, one stands over him and asks Allah for steadfastness for him and seeks forgiveness for him, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand over the deceased after finishing the burial and say:Sunan Abi Dawud 3221Sahih (Al-Albani).
The questioner : May Allah bless you. This is a listener from al-Qasim who says, O honorable Shaykh.

Seek forgiveness for your brother, and beg steadfastness for him, for he will be questioned now.
