The Shaykh : The point of this is His saying, His saying and facing the qiblah. Facing the qiblah is obligatory; indeed, it is one of the conditions of the prayer. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) first arrived in Madinah, he faced the Sacred Mosque in Jerusalem, placing the Ka'bah behind his back and the Sacred Mosque in front of him. He remained in this state for about sixteen months. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) loved to face the Ka'bah, so he would turn his gaze toward the sky, waiting for the revelation. The revelation came until the word of Allah the Exalted descended: [Al-Baqarah 2:144]. Thus, the qiblah was abrogated from the Sacred Mosque in Jerusalem to the Ka'bah. The Shaykh al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned that the Ka'bah is the qiblah for all the prophets, except that the Jews and Christians changed it; the Christians faced the East, and the Jews faced the Sacred Mosque in Jerusalem.
Whoever prays like us and faces our Qibla and eats our slaughtered animals is a Muslim and is under Allah's and His Apostle's protection. So do not betray Allah by betraying those who are in His protection.
من صلى صلاتنا واستقبل قبلتنا وأكل ذبيحتنا فذلك المسلم الذي له ذمة الله وذمة رسوله، فلا تخفروا الله في ذمتهThe Shaykh : Repeat, repeat, repeat.
