The reciter: Muhammad narrated to us, saying: 'Abdah informed us from Hisham ibn 'Urwah from his father from 'A'ishah .
The Shaykh : The *bay'ah* is said to be the temples of the Christians, and the *kanais* are the temples of the Jews, while the *kanais* are the temples of the Christians and the *masajid* are the temples of the Muslims. In a report from 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he refused to enter the church because of the statues containing images in it. It is also established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that when he came to 'A'ishah and found images in her house, he stood still, and she recognized the dislike on his face. It is also understood from a report of Ibn 'Abbas that there is no harm in entering the *bay'ah* and the churches, and no harm in praying in them, but this is understood in the context of what was reported from 'Umar, which is that there should be no images in them.
Umm Salamah mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a church she had seen in the land of Abyssinia, called Mariam. She described to him the images she had seen in it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those are a people who, when a righteous slave or a righteous man dies among them, build a mosque over his grave and depict those images in it. Those are the worst of creation in the sight of Allah."
The Shaykh : The *bay'ah* is said to be the temples of the Christians, and the *kanais* are the temples of the Jews, while the *kanais* are the temples of the Christians and the *masajid* are the temples of the Muslims.
