What is the ruling on performing the regular voluntary prayer or the greeting of the mosque while sitting?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on performing the regular voluntary prayer or the greeting of the mosque while sitting?

The Shaykh : All voluntary prayers, including the regular voluntary prayer and the greeting of the mosque, are permissible while sitting or standing, because standing is a pillar only in the obligatory prayer. However, if one is sitting without an excuse, his reward is half the reward of the one who prays standing. If he is sitting due to an excuse and it was his habit to pray the voluntary prayer standing, then he is credited with what he used to do in a state of health, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever is ill or travels is credited with what he used to do while healthy and resident. من مرض أو سافر كتِب له ما كان يعمل صحيحاً مقيماً
. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
