Explanation of the Book of Prayer and Its Times-09a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abdullah ibn Muslimah narrated to us, saying: I read to Malik from Ibn Shihab:
That 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz delayed the prayer one day, so 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr entered upon him and informed him: that al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah had delayed the prayer one day while he was in Iraq, so Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari entered upon him and said: What is this, O Mughirah? Do you not know that Jibril (peace be upon him) descended and prayed, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, then he prayed and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, then he prayed and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, then he prayed and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, then he prayed and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed.
.

The Shaykh : How many are these? Five prayers, yes.
The reader:
Then he said: With this I was commanded. So 'Umar said to 'Urwah: Know what you are reporting, or is it that Jibril (peace be upon him) established the time of prayer for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? 'Urwah said: That is what Bashir ibn Abu Mas'ud used to narrate from his father.
.

The Shaykh : 'Urwah said.
