Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"This is what cast enmity between us *** In Allah we are adversaries for His sake"
In this is evidence that Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) professed to Allah the Exalted and Majestic hostility toward the people of innovation. It is the truth that it is obligatory for a person to hate the people of innovation and be hostile to them according to the amount of innovation they possess, contrary to those who say: "The Muslim community is one community, so there must be affection and love between them, even with the innovations that entail disbelief, love is obligatory." But this is wrong. Rather, it is obligatory for us to hate the innovator for his innovation. However, if he possesses good—meaning he has both innovation and Sunnah, guidance and misguidance—then justice is to love him for what he has of guidance and Sunnah, and to hate him for what he has of innovation and misguidance.
"They supported misguidance out of the folly of their opinion *** But we supported what is mandated by the Qur'an
And our path is contrary to their path, so *** Two men from us never meet"

All of this is clear.
"We refused to profess a religion by what they *** Professed of opinions and slander"
Meaning, we refused to profess a religion for Allah, work for Him, and worship Him by what they professed of opinions and slander.
