The Ruling on Hating the Family of the Prophet and Hostility Toward Them
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on one who hates the family of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and does not show loyalty to them?
Answer:
This is a great abomination. It is not permissible. It is obligatory to love for the sake of Allah and to hate for the sake of Allah. This is not specific to the family of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It is obligatory for every Muslim to love for the sake of Allah and hate for the sake of Allah. He loves the believers and dislikes the disbelievers, and he loves the believers from the family of the Messenger of Allah.
As for the one among them who is a disbeliever, he is to be hated for the sake of Allah. Abu Lahab, who is from the People of the House, must be hated for the sake of Allah, and Abu Talib, who is from the People of the House, must be hated for the sake of Allah. And the believing People of the House, such as 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) , al-Hasan, al-Husayn, Fatimah, and others among the believers who came after them up to our day, from those among the Banu Hashim who are people of faith, are to be loved for the sake of Allah just as one loves others from Tamim, from Qahtan, from so-and-so and so-and-so, even the enslaved slave is to be loved for the sake of Allah if he is obedient to Allah .
And whoever is a disbeliever in Allah is to be hated for the sake of Allah, even if he is from the children of the prophets; it is obligatory to hate him for the sake of Allah. So love for the sake of Allah and hatred for the sake of Allah are based on obedience to Allah and His Messenger, not on lineage. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 2408a meaning: in loving them, giving them their rights, and not harming them. And so it is with the rest of the believers; they must be loved for the sake of Allah and not harmed. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Ahzab: 58].
But the Rafidah and those similar to them believe that whoever does not exaggerate regarding the family of the Prophet and does not worship them besides Allah means that he hates them. This is from their ignorance and misguidance. The family of the Prophet are not worshipped besides Allah, neither Ali nor anyone else. Worship is the right of Allah alone, and no one shares in it. Ali is not worshipped, nor the Prophet Muhammad, nor any other of the prophets (may Allah send prayers and peace upon them). Even the prophets are not worshipped besides Allah. [Al-Isra: 23] [Al-Fatihah: 5] [Az-Zumar: 2].
And so it is with the Rafidah and their like from the Batiniyyah: whoever does not say of the twelve imams that they know the unseen and that they are infallible, he hates them. This is ignorance and misguidance. They do not know the unseen, and they are not infallible; they are like people, not infallible and not knowing the unseen. Knowledge of the unseen belongs to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). So whoever says that the imams of the People of the House, 'Ali and those below him, know the unseen, he is a disbeliever, a misguiding misleader, whether he is from the Rafidah or from other than the Rafidah. Allah says - (Exalted and Majestic is He): [Al-Naml: 65].
So the one who says that 'Ali, or al-Hasan, or al-Husayn, or al-Baqir, or Zayd al-'Abidin, or those after them, or the one in the vault, about whom they say that they know the unseen, this is ignorance, misguidance, and disbelief in Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). Whether it is said by the Rafidah or by others, we ask Allah for safety.

I remind you (of your duties) to the members of my family
أذكركم الله في أهل بيتي، أذكركم الله في أهل بيتيAnd those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly born upon themselves a slander and manifest sin.
But the Rafidah and those similar to them believe that whoever does not exaggerate regarding the family of the Prophet and does not worship them besides Allah means that he hates them. And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him
وَقَضَى رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا إِيَّاهُIt is You we worship and You we ask for help.
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُSo worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion.
