(The Virtue of Sound Reason) This, and then a wondrous subtlety I shall reveal to you, O brothers, so listen, for that is one who denies attributes and likens [Allah] to creation, and reason, for that is the reality of man.

The Shaykh : This is a wonderful point mentioned by the author (may Allah have mercy on him), and it is indeed wonderful in reality. He says:
"This, and then a wondrous subtlety I shall reveal to you, O brothers"
May Allah reward him with good. That is to say, his words are enticing (may Allah have mercy on him). When a person hears this verse, he says, "Come on, bring it out, bring out what you have."
"So listen, for that is one who denies attributes and likens [Allah] to creation, and reason, for that is the reality of man"
"And reason, for that is," meaning: reason is the reality of man. For this reason, man is not distinguished from the animal except by reason. If reason is lost—and the reason meant here is the reason of sound judgment—then he becomes more vile than the animal, as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-A'raf 7:179].
