The Shaykh : He says:
"In it, among the people, there is a talisman *** when you decipher it, you decipher the pinnacle of gnosis"
A talisman consists of specific recitations read over the sick that serve as a cause for healing. It is called a talism, and its plural is talasim.
"If you see the Bull in it, the Jims align *** with the tripling, a wretched conjunction"
The Bull is one of the twelve zodiac signs. Those who claim knowledge of the stars make predictions in such matters regarding the conjunction of one star with another and the like. This is a false science, without doubt. However, the author (may Allah have mercy on him) intended only to give an example.
