The Meaning of the Poet's Saying: "So Compulsion Testifies That All Your Sins Are Like the Trembling of an Old Man with Palsy, There Is No Actor Forever, Nor Is He Capable, Like the Dead Wrapped Inside the Shrouds"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"So Compulsion Testifies That All Your Sins Are Like the Trembling of an Old Man with Palsy"
A man went to a gathering of prostitutes and committed a sin and returned. His movements, his steps, and all his actions were without his choice, like an old, decrepit man whose strength has left him, so he trembles like this. Is this trembling voluntary or compelled?
The student: Compelled.

The Shaykh : Compelled. He says this man who went to the market of prostitutes and relieved himself and returned, all of his actions, what are they? Compelled. He has no power or strength in them, like the trembling of a decrepit old man. Yes, he says:
"There Is No Actor Forever, Nor Is He Capable"
Man is not an actor, Glory be to Allah! And he is not capable of action. Why? Give the reason, because he is compelled.
"There Is No Actor Forever, Nor Is He Capable, Like the Dead Wrapped Inside the Shrouds"
Is the dead man carried from the washing bed and placed on the shroud by his choice? No? Absolutely not, it is not by his choice. If he had chosen, he would not have chosen to be washed or buried in the shrouds, he would have chosen life. Good.
