(Discussion of the Jahmiyyah and an explanation of their creed, which involves denying knowledge, being above, speech, and all attributes) So add to the two Jims a Jim of Jahmiyyah*** and deny the attributes

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"So add to the two Jims a Jim of Jahmiyyah *** and deny the attributes and cast them down"
The Jim of Jahmiyyah refers to the denial of the attributes of Allah the Mighty and Majestic, negating the attributes. This is the Jim of Jahmiyyah; it is the negation of the attributes.
"Say: There is no Lord above the Throne who is knowledgeable *** about our secrets or our open deeds"
I seek refuge in Allah! If He does not know our secrets or our open deeds, then He is ignorant. There is no obstacle in their view, because they say, "Allah is sufficient, and do not worry, as long as you believe in His existence."
"Rather, there is no one above the Throne who is worshipped *** other than non-existence, in which there is nothing in reality"
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Yes, that is right.
"Rather, there is no one above the Throne who has hearing *** or sight, or justice, or excellence" because they deny all the attributes.
"Rather, there is no one above the Throne who is worshipped other than *** non-existence, in which there is nothing in reality"
Because if they say: Allah is not inside the world, nor outside it, nor above, nor below, nor to the right, nor to the left, nor connected, nor disconnected, what is the result? Non-existence.
"Rather, there is no one above the Throne who speaks *** with commands, warnings, and the Qur'an"
Because they say that speech is created; Allah does not speak.
"No, and no word ascends to Him *** ever, and no deed for one who is grateful"
Why? Because if they affirmed that deeds ascend to Allah, they would affirm that Allah is above, and they do not accept this.
"How" means: How can that be?
"And the share of the Throne from Him is like the share of what *** is under the earth at the lowly place"
They say: The one near the Throne and the one in the lowest depths are equal in nearness to Allah. Glory be to Allah! Is this possible?
And those near Him are not prevented by arrogance from His worship ومن عنده لا يستكبرون عن عبادته
[Al-Anbya 21:19]
with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], عند ذي العرش مكين
[At-Takwir 81:20]
If they were equal, then the one in the lowest earth would be near the Throne, would he not? And the one in the lowest earth would be near Allah, so they do not distinguish, because they do not see being above.
"Rather, the relationship of the Most Merciful, in the view of their group, *** to the Throne is like His relationship to a building
So He has taken possession of both of them"

They say: Allah istawa (rose above) the Throne, meaning He took possession of it. Well, and the building on earth? Did He take possession of it or not? He took possession of it. So the relationship of the building to Allah is like the relationship of the Throne to Allah; Allah the Mighty and Majestic has taken possession of both of them. He said:
"So He has taken possession of both of them by His power *** and both of them are devoid of His essence"
Clear.
