(Clarification of the Issue of Excuse by Ignorance) And bear witness that they do not declare you disbelievers for what you have said of disbelief, for you are people of ignorance in their eyes, not people of disbelief or faith

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And bear witness that they do not declare you disbelievers for what you have said of disbelief"
Meaning, they do not say you are disbelievers for what you have said of disbelief, even if what you said is disbelief, but they do not declare you disbelievers. Why? He says:
"For you are people of ignorance in their eyes, not people of disbelief or faith"
You are ignorant; you do not know disbelief and faith, so they do not say you are disbelievers, even if what you said is disbelief. "Unless you are stub" Yes.
"You do not know the reality of disbelief, nor Do you know the reality of faith"
You are ignorant of both of these.
"Unless you are stubborn and reject The word of the Messenger for the sake of so-and-so's word
So there, you are the most disbelieving of the two groups, *** of the jinn and the humans who dwell in the Fire.

This is the issue of excuse by ignorance: is a person excused by ignorance in the fundamentals of religion, or is he not excused? The correct view is that a person is excused by ignorance in the fundamentals and branches of religion, because Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:
And never would We punish until We sent a messenger. وما كنا معذبين حتى نبعث رسولا
[Al-Isra 17:15]
Why? To inform people. So if a person is ignorant and does not know anything, we do not declare him a disbeliever for his sin, unless he claims to be a disbeliever, in which case he is a disbeliever, and his account in the Hereafter is with Allah. For example, a person to whom the Islamic call has not reached, but he lives as a Christian, for instance, and knows nothing about Islam. This person, even though he is ignorant, we treat him in this world as whom? As a disbelieving Christian. In the Hereafter, his account is with Allah, like the people of the period of ignorance.
But if he claims to be a Muslim and says he is a Muslim, but does what is disbelief while being ignorant that it is disbelief, and no one has informed him that it is disbelief, then we do not declare him a disbeliever. Why? Because of ignorance. But if he is stubborn and rejects the word of the Messenger for the word of so-and-so, then the proof has been established against him. So if we inform him, we say this is disbelief because prostration to other than Allah is disbelief, and prostration to other than Allah is disbelief. He says: No, I do not accept this, because so-and-so the Shaykh sees me doing this and does not say anything to me, so I follow my Shaykh. We told him: Cursing Abu Bakr and 'Umar is disbelief. He said: No, I do not accept it, because so-and-so my Shaykh says cursing Abu Bakr and 'Umar is an act of devotion. Well, does this make him a disbeliever or not? He is a disbeliever, he is a disbeliever, because the truth has reached him.
