Commentary on the poet's saying: But He, Glorified and Exalted, singles out the great favor, the essence of mankind, and the rest are not fit for good, like thorns, which are fuel for the fire

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"But He, Glorified and Exalted, singles out the great favor, the essence of mankind"
Yes, He singles out the essence of mankind. So if Allah the Exalted says
Allah is most knowing of where He places His message الله أعلم حيث يجعل رسالته
[Al-An'am 6:124]
Is this person worthy of being among the followers of the messengers, or is he not worthy? Allah knows best. So whoever Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has granted from the effects of this message, in the form of knowledge, faith, and guidance, let him be glad of the good, for Allah did not place it in him except knowing that he is worthy. And whoever is deprived of it, let him not despair; let him turn to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and ask Him for good and steadfastness. He said:
"But He, Glorified and Exalted, singles out the great favor, the essence of mankind
And others are not fit for good, *** like thorns, which are the fuel of the fire.

Thorns are not of benefit, but they are used to kindle the fire. These who are not the essence of mankind are like thorns.
"And the builders of the gardens are the people of guidance, Allah is the Greatest, the two are not equal"
Who are the inhabitants of the gardens and their builders? They are the people of guidance. As for the thorns, they are for the fire.
