(Explanation that the Qur'an is the speech of Allah in both wording and meaning, and a refutation of the Asha'irah and the Kalbiyyah) The one who brought down the trustworthy spirit upon the clear proof of the Messenger's heart
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then it said:
" The one who brought down the trustworthy spirit upon the clear proof of the Messenger's heart
is the speech of my Lord "
And what the trustworthy spirit brought down upon the heart of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Qur'an. He says:
" It is the speech of my Lord, the wording and the meaning both, for they are two brothers walking together "
And by this he intended to refute the Asha'irah, who said: The Qur'an is the meaning, while the wording is not the speech of Allah; rather, it is what? It is an expression of the speech of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), so the speech of Allah is the meaning. As for us, we believe that the speech of Allah is both the wording and the meaning. He says:
" Do not sever a bond that the Most Merciful has joined, lest you strip yourselves of faith "
What is the bond? The connection between the wording and the meaning. You have separated between them, saying that the wording is the wording of the angel or the wording of the Messenger Muhammad, and the meaning is the speech of Allah. This is not correct.
