Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He says: "Or what you have heard that their adornment extends to *** where their ablution ends, in meter"
And the ablution ends at the elbow in the hand, and at the ankle in the leg, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
In a believer adornment would reach the places where ablution reaches. تبلغ الحلية من المؤمن حيث يبلغ الوضوء
Sahih Muslim 250
.
"And likewise the ablution of Abu Hurayrah in which *** the upper arms and the lower legs were included"
The upper arms are in? In the hand, and the lower legs? In the leg. Abu Hurayrah, when he performed ablution, would extend it until it reached near the shoulder, and likewise in the lower leg, he would extend it until it reached near the knee. Yes, but Ibn al-Qayyim says:
"And he denied this to him, saying *** The lower leg is not a place for human adornment"
The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
In a believer adornment would reach تبلغ الحلية من المؤمن
Sahih Muslim 250
And the lower leg is not adorned; the adornment is in the leg, in the lower part, it is not in the lower leg. And he says: "The lower leg is not a place for human adornment"
