The Shaykh : Then he said: "And lengthening the ghurrah is not possible *** ever, and this is the clearest of explanations"
Lengthening the ghurrah is not possible. The ghurrah is the face; the ghurrah is the face. Is it possible for a person to lengthen his face? It is not possible. If it were to be widened, for example, the limit would be the ears. If the washing reaches the ear, the ear is not part of the face. Or if it is raised above the hairline, the hairline is not part of the face. Therefore, lengthening the ghurrah mentioned in the hadith: is not possible. That is to say, if lengthening the tahjeel were possible, lengthening the ghurrah would not be possible. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cannot speak words that are not possible. The words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cannot be anything other than what is real and in accordance with the truth.
