(Explanation of the reconciliation between the saying of Allah the Exalted: {Enter Paradise on account of what you used to do} and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"What the Lord of the Worlds and His servant said*** This"
Meaning that you would nullify blessings and abandon work, yet still attain Paradise. "So review the implication of the Qur'an"
"And reflect on the "ba" that has been specified*** As the cause of success for the wisdom of the Furqan
And I think the "ba" of negation has deceived you in*** That hadith which the two Shaykhs transmitted"

In the Noble Qur'an, there are multiple verses that say:
Enter Paradise for what you used to do." ادخلو الجنة بما كنتم تعملون
[An-Nahl 16:32]
for what you used to do." جزاءاً بما كنتم تعملون
[Al-A'raf 7:43]
and similar verses. These establish that a person enters Paradise by his deeds. Then it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in what was narrated by the two Shaykhs, that he said:
No one will enter Paradise by his deeds, except that Allah covers him with His mercy لن يدخل الجنة أحد بعمله إلا أن يتغمده الله برحمته
So the negligent one says, "Then I will not work, as long as deeds do not bring me into Paradise; rather, it is only the mercy of Allah that brings me in. So I will not work." And for this reason he said:
"And I think the "ba" of negation has deceived you in*** That hadith which the two Shaykhs transmitted"
What is the "ba" of negation?
The student: By his deeds.

The Shaykh :
none would be able to get into Paradise because of his deeds لن يدخل الجنة أحد بعمل
Sahih Muslim 2818a
So it deceived him, and he said, "I will not work, as long as the matter returns to the forgiveness and mercy of Allah, there is no need for work." Then he said, clarifying and explaining:
"No one will enter the Gardens, even a toiler*** Striving for it, even if it were on the eyelids"
This is the text of the hadith that states that no one enters Paradise by his deeds.
