The Method of the People of Deviation: Following the Ambiguous Verses.

The questioner : The meaning of... among people, the attribute, meaning they say, meaning they want to say that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the One who established in His Book that there is ambiguous matter, and none knows it except Allah and those firm in knowledge. If there is ambiguous matter in the Qur'an that none knows except Allah, and Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, addressed the Arabs of Quraysh at that time, how can what comes to mind be the intended meaning? If what comes to mind were the intended meaning, there would have been no need for those with knowledge to be taught it, nor would it have been necessary for those firm in knowledge to be the ones distinguished by it. Then they said that these principles they establish are not currently present; these are religious innovations. Why do you oblige us with principles that did not exist?

The Shaykh : Well, we say, praise be to Allah, Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth. This is proof that there is deviation in your hearts; otherwise, you would have followed the path of the people of knowledge from the predecessors. They did not say this. Bring us a single letter that indicates what you have adopted; they are unable to do so.
