We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey, and the mu'adhdhin wanted to call the adhan for the midday prayer, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Wait." Then he wanted to call the adhan, and he said to him, "Wait," until we saw the shadow of the dunes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The intensity of the heat is from the scorching of Hell. So when the heat becomes intense, wait with the prayer."
كنا مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في سفر فأراد المؤذن أن يؤذن للظهر فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : أبرد . ثم أراد أن يؤذن فقال : له أبرد . حتى رأينا فيء التلول . فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : إن شدة الحر من فيح جهنم فإذا اشتد الحر فأبردوا بالصلاةAnd Ibn Abbas said: "It leans, it tilts".
