Explanation of the Book of Prayer and Its Times-10b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, saying: Ibn 'Iyynah informed us from al-Zuhri from 'Urwah from 'A'ishah, who said:
The Prophet (ﷺ) used to pray the `Asr prayers at a time when the sunshine was still inside my chamber and no shadow had yet appeared in it. كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي صلاة العصر والشمس طالعة في حجرتي لم يظهر الفيء بعد
Sahih al-Bukhari 546
.
And Malik, Yahya ibn Sa'id, Shu'ayb, and Ibn Abi Hafsay said:
while the sun was before it set. والشمس قبل أن تظهر
.

The Shaykh : All of this is by way of approximation; otherwise, it is also known that the shadow varies according to the seasons. The shadow in winter is one thing, and in summer it is another. The point of this is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would hasten to pray the 'Asr prayer; that is the intended meaning.
