The questioner : Your Eminence, are there any verses that are recited...
The Shaykh : Is it? Is it?
The questioner : Are there any verses that are recited with the intention of facilitating childbirth for a woman?
The Shaykh : I am not aware of anything in the Sunnah regarding this. However, if a person recites over a woman who is in labor what indicates ease, such as:[Al-Baqarah 2:185] and what speaks of pregnancy and childbirth in the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Fatir 35:11] and such as the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Az-Zalzalah 99:1-2] then this is beneficial and proven by the permission of Allah.
The entire Qur'an is a healing, provided that the reciter and the one over whom it is recited believe in its effect and impact. It must have an effect, for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says:[Al-Isra 17:82] This verse is a general healing and mercy, encompassing the healing of hearts from the diseases of doubts and the diseases of desires, and the healing of bodies from difficult diseases.
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
The Shaykh : Is it? Is it?
The questioner : Are there any verses that are recited with the intention of facilitating childbirth for a woman?

يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ وَلا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَAnd no female conceives nor does she give birth except with His knowledge
وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنْثَى وَلا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلْمِهِ(1) When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake (2) And the earth discharges its burdens
إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا * وَأَخْرَجَتِ الأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَاThe entire Qur'an is a healing, provided that the reciter and the one over whom it is recited believe in its effect and impact. It must have an effect, for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says:
And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
