The Reciter: Chapter: The Obligation of Congregational Prayer. Al-Hasan said: If his mother prevents him from attending the 'Isha' prayer in congregation out of compassion, he should not obey her.
The Shaykh : The author (may Allah have mercy on him) stated that congregational prayer is obligatory, and this is indeed the case. Its obligation is established by the Qur'an and the Sunnah, and we can say it is the consensus of the Companions. As for the Qur'an, it is the statement of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He: With whom?
The students: With those who bow.
The Shaykh : And companionship implies being with one another. And Allah the Exalted said: [An-Nisa 4:102] So He commanded the congregational prayer in a state of fear, so in a state of safety it is all the more so, from the standpoint of priority. As for the Sunnah, it is replete with evidence indicating the obligation of the congregational prayer. As for the consensus of the Companions, Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Indeed, I saw us, and none would lag behind it except a known hypocrite or a sick person" He even said: "Indeed, a man would be brought, supported between two men, until he was placed in the row" And as for the meaning, the meaning and consideration also necessitate this, because if we did not say that the congregation is obligatory and said that Muslims have the right to pray in their homes, they would abandon the Sunnah of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and they would have no bond to bind them and no affection to unite them. So the Book, the Sunnah, the consensus of the Companions, and the third, which is consideration and meaning, all necessitate the obligation of the congregational prayer. In the athar that the author transmitted from al-Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him), affirming it and citing it, there is evidence that a mother is not to be obeyed in disobedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), even if it is out of compassion for her son. And the father?
The students: All the more so.
The Shaykh : All the more so, and we say all the more so because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: Who is the most deserving of my good companionship? He said: Who is the most deserving of my good companionship? He said:, he said: Then who? He said: , he said: Then who? He said: , he said: Then who? He said: . It is also known that the mother is more tender than the father, so if it is permissible to disobey the mother in obedience to Allah due to her extreme tenderness, then the father is all the more so. Based on this, we say that any obedience in which the parents command their child to abandon it, the child is not obligated to obey them in that, any obedience, except if there is harm to the parents in it. As for what does not harm the parents, there is no obedience to them in it, and it is not permissible for them to prevent their child from obedience. For example, some people say: Do not go to another country to seek knowledge. How? Why shouldn't I go? I will go. Or, for example, some women say to their daughters: Do not fast on Monday or Thursday or the white days. Why? There is no harm in disobeying the parents. And the Shaykh al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned a useful rule, saying: "Obedience to the parents is only obligatory in what is beneficial for them and does not harm the son". This is a useful rule: what does not harm the son, and what? And is beneficial for the parents, not just arbitrary control. If we also know that he was prevented from it out of dislike for this religious matter, then disobeying him is more obligatory. That is, some people say to their sons: Do not keep company with the good ones; these are extremists, these... these have such and such, do not keep company with them, out of dislike for their adherence to the Sunnah. In this case, disobeying him is more obligatory, and his disobedience is obligatory, because he only intended dislike; the motive for him was dislike of the Sunnah and making his son abandon the Sunnah. Yes, Salim.

وإذا كنت فيهم فأقمت لهم الصلاة فلتقم طائفة منهم معك وليأخذوا أسلحتهم فإذا سجدوا فليكونوا من ورائكمThe students: All the more so.
