Explanation of the Book of the Adhan-10a
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, saying: Shu'ayb informed us from al-Zuhri, saying: Salim ibn 'Abdullah informed us that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) begin the takbir in the prayer, and he raised his hands when he said the takbir until he placed them level with his shoulders. And when he said the takbir for the ruku', he did the same. And when he said, "Allah hears the one who praises Him," he did the same, and said, "Our Lord, and to You is the praise." And he did not do that when he prostrated, nor when he raised his head from the prostration.
