Explanation of the Book of Friday Prayer and the Two Festivals-03a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Muhammad narrated to us, Mukhald ibn Yazid informed us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, saying: I heard Nafi' say: I heard Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) say:
The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade anyone forcing a man to rise from his seat so that someone else could sit in his place. نهى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يقيم الرجل أخاه من مقعده ويجلس فيه
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1153
. I asked Nafi': Is this regarding the Friday prayer? He said: The Friday prayer and others.

The Shaykh : This is the point of the evidence. He said:
The Friday prayer and othersالجمعة وغيرها
And likewise in other than prayer, meaning it is not the right of any person to come to a gathering of knowledge and make his brother rise and sit in his place, or to a regular gathering, a gathering of leisure, and enter and say, "Rise, so-and-so," and sit in his place. Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to let a person sit in his place if someone rose from it for Ibn 'Umar to sit in, and he would not sit. All of this is out of respect for the right of the Muslim. The discussion will continue, if Allah wills.
