Benefits of the Hadith: (As for what follows, by Allah, I give to one man and withhold from another, and the one I withhold from is more beloved to me than the one I give to...)

The Shaykh : In this is evidence of the wisdom of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in giving and withholding. Likewise, a person should also apply this in addressing people. You may address some people with gentle words and others with harsher words, even though the action is the same, because you know that this person is not like that person. So you consider what is in their souls and what is in their hearts. This is part of the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): that a person considers the one he is addressing, and the one he is giving to and the one he is withholding from, so that he is clear about the matter and so that he manages people in a way that benefits them.
In it is also evidence that wealth has an effect on souls, because he gives to them due to the panic and fear in their hearts.
In it is also evidence of the insight of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and that he judged by his insight. Otherwise, he does not know the unseen. But he discerns in them that they are men of wealth, and that they become angry if wealth does not come to them, and they rejoice when it comes to them.
In it is also evidence that it is necessary to reconcile hearts with wealth. For this reason, Allah the Exalted assigned a share of the zakah to those whose hearts are to be reconciled. Do not say, "Who is the one I am reconciling? Let him perish; what do we have to do with him?" This is not correct. If he is a Muslim, he is your brother. And if he is not a Muslim, he may become your brother one day and become your supporter. How many people were enemies of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and in the end became among his supporters and his close friends of Allah. Yes, indeed.
