The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "Who gathered wealth and counted it"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. الذي جمع مالا وعدده
[Al-Humazah 104:2]
Pay attention: he gathered a great deal of wealth, because "malan" is an indefinite noun, which indicates magnification, meaning he gathered a great deal of wealth. And "counted it"—I want to know from you the difference between "adad" (number) and "adda" (to count).
What is the difference between "adad" and "adda"? You may answer, please.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, well done, may Allah reward you. That is correct. "Adda" means he counted the wealth once and placed it in the box.
But "counted it" morning and evening means he comes to count it a second time, a third time, fearing that it might have what? It might have decreased. So his greatest concern is the wealth.
