Continuation of the story of the man who had intercourse during the day in Ramadan.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He was looking to see what would happen, so dates were brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he said, "Give them in charity," he said,
poorer than me على أفقر مني
Glory be to Allah, the Companions are straightforward
is there anyone poorer than me أعلى أفقر مني
? By Allah, look, I swear,
By Allah, between its two banks والله ما بين لابيتها
meaning that in Madinah, there is no household poorer than mine. I swear, did he count all the households and see that he was the poorest of people? No, but this is what he believed to be the case. What did the Messenger (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him) say?
He smiled (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him) until his molars were visible, then he said:
Feed it to your family. أطعمه أهلك
. This man came seeking a ruling, repentant, not being arrogant or flaunting his sin, but he is repentant and seeking relief. Do you understand, my brother? So how did the Messenger (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him) treat him? Did he treat him with harshness? No, he treated him with ease and simplicity. In the end, he returned to his wife with dates to eat and for her to eat. This is how you draw people's hearts to you with gentleness and kindness. Who among you is a student of knowledge? All of you, if Allah wills, are students of knowledge, but who among you is qualified to issue fatwas? There is no obstacle, but in my opinion, if a man like this came to seek a ruling, you would rebuke him and say, "Are you not ashamed of yourself? What is the difference between night and day? Wait until night," and the like. But the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) treated him with this gentleness.
So, the one who comes to us seeking a ruling, repentant, even if he committed the greatest of crimes, how do we treat him? With gentleness and softness, not with violence. It is true that a person who is arrogant and flaunts his sin has a different status, he has a different status. But a person who comes to seek your guidance, meaning he asks you to guide him to the straight path, he has a different status.
So,
And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. وأما السائل فلا تنهر
[Ad-Duhaa 93:10]
with violence? Say it applies to the questioner seeking a ruling and the questioner begging for money.
