The Shaykh : On this night, Wednesday, the third of the month of Rabi' al-Thani, we meet with our brothers in al-Masjid al-Haram, and we ask Allah the Exalted to make this meeting a blessed one. We listened to our imam reciting two great surahs in this Maghrib prayer, such that no one seeking refuge has ever sought refuge with anything like them, namely:
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak قل أعوذ برب الفلق
[Al-Falaq 113:1]
and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, قل أعوذ برب الناس
[An-Nas 114:1]
.
Regarding these two great surahs, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
No one seeking refuge has ever sought refuge with anything like them. ما تعوذ متعوذ بمثلها
For this reason, Allah the Exalted directed the address to the servants to seek refuge with them, saying:
