The ruling on compelling people to believe, with evidence.
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And in this verse is evidence that it is not permissible for a person to compel people to believe, as Allah the Mighty and Majestic said: [Al-Baqarah 2:256]. For this reason, we fight the disbelievers to make them submit or—what is it?—or pay the jizyah. Either they submit or they pay the jizyah from the hand while they are humbled, and we do not fight them. We say: Remain on your religion, because there is no compulsion in religion. And when we impose the jizyah on them, we humble them. And the ruling and the word belong to whom? To the Muslims.
And in the verse are more benefits than what we have mentioned, but the time has run out, so let us return to the prescribed lesson.
There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong.
لا إكراه في الدين قد تبين الرشد من الغيAnd in the verse are more benefits than what we have mentioned, but the time has run out, so let us return to the prescribed lesson.
