The necessity of Muslims using the Hijri calendar instead of the Gregorian calendar.

The Shaykh : And Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said: to the end of it. The exegetes have agreed that the months referred to here are the Arab months: Muharram, Safar, Rabi' al-Awwal, Rabi' al-Thani, or Rabi' al-Akhar? Al-Akhar, Jumada al-Ula, Jumada al-Akhirah, Rajab, Sha'ban, Ramadan, Shawwal, Dhu al-Qa'dah, and Dhu al-Hijjah, by the consensus of the exegetes. Thus, it becomes clear that timing things by other than these lunar months is contrary to what Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, established these lunar months for. Those who time things by the French months are contrary to this, to what Allah the Exalted established for the servants to determine their timings and set their deadlines by. This timing, which I mean timing by the French months, did not occur except after the disbelievers colonized the lands of the Muslims. When they colonized the lands of the Muslims and had the upper hand, it is known that they would transfer the people from the calendar they were born on to the calendar of this disbeliever so that their control would be complete. For this reason, you will not find a basis to rely on for these French months. Some of them are twenty-eight days, and some are more than thirty days without any reason. For this reason, some of the disbelievers demanded that they make all these months thirty days. And if the time increases, they add a day to one of the months or subtract a day from it. But because they are accustomed to the current known timing, they said, "We do not accept this proposal," even though this proposal is closer to reason than these varying months. But these disbelievers preserve their calendar and consider deviating from it to be their humiliation. The poor Muslims, when the disbelievers colonized them and imposed their calendar, meaning the calendar of the disbelievers, instead of the Arab calendar, these obscure people submitted to this. They should have opposed it with the strongest opposition. Is our calendar, which is built on the greatest occasion in Islam, to be discarded and abolished? On what is this Islamic calendar built? On the Hijrah, by which the Islamic state was formed, and by which the Islamic state had an Imam who would guide it, direct it, command it, and prohibit it. We all know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in Makkah and the rule was not his, but it was with whom? With Quraysh. And unfortunately, some of the simpletons and fools in this Saudi land went to date things by the French calendar, even though the state, may Allah preserve it and protect it from evils, has stipulated that the official calendar of this state is the Hijri calendar, so it is in the system of the King. So those obscure, deluded fools, deceived by Western culture, change the calendar to the French calendar. Therefore, you will find that in many shops, if they give you the invoice, the purchase invoice, you will find the date by what? By the French one. Glory be to Allah! You are in a state whose official calendar is the Hijri calendar, and you make the calendar Christian? Then, most of us here in our land, most of them do not know the French Christian calendar. They only know the Hijri calendar. Does that mean that these people want to turn the Saudi people from their glorious calendar, built on the Hijrah, to this imaginary calendar? Glory be to Allah! But the problem is the weakness of personality in the human being, so that he does not take pride in his Islamic personality. My brother, you are a Muslim, your calendar is Islamic, a calendar built on the greatest occasion, built on the formation of the Islamic state. So how do you come to this imaginary French calendar because it is built on nothing?
A person said: Your statement is refuted. Your statement is refuted by the Qur'an, precision, and reality. As for the Qur'an, Allah says: And He said: The nine added are the excess of the Hijri years over the Gregorian ones.
So we say: What Allah wills regarding this great deduction that the smartest of people cannot reach except the most dull-witted! Did Allah, Mighty and Majestic, indicate by His saying: the difference between the lunar year and the solar year? Who can testify to Allah that He intended this? No one can testify, and if he testified, he would be a liar. Where does he have this evidence? But Allah, Mighty and Majestic, intended to confirm the duration they remained in, meaning the People of the Cave, so He said: so the total is three hundred and nine years. It is not possible that in the Noble Qur'an and then this verse indicates the difference between the lunar year and the solar year. This is not possible. And the one who says that this is the intended meaning is testifying to Allah with what he does not know. And he will be questioned about this testimony on the Day of Resurrection.
As for their saying: These French months are more precise because they follow the time and the seasons.
So we say: Praise be to Allah, there is something better than them and more precise than them, and it has come in the Qur'an, which is the constellations. Date by the twelve constellations. Allah indicated them in the Noble Qur'an: . Date by the constellations. We say, yes, you have not contradicted. And we do not need the timing to agree with the seasons except in the case of agriculture. Farmers need this. And for the farmers, it is sufficient for us to say to them these constellations: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn. These constellations, walk on them. Three for summer, and three for autumn, and three for winter, and three for spring. And they are completely regulated and built on signs, which are the stars.
