The states of people in fasting.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And we ask Allah to forgive us all. If we fast, do our methodologies change? That is, do we turn to obedience and stay away from sin? Some do, and some do not. I do not say that everyone benefits; some do, and some do not, but most people are not like that. Some people, when they eat the pre-dawn meal in the morning and pray Fajr, sleep until Dhuhr. Then, when they pray Dhuhr, they sleep until 'Asr. Then, when they pray 'Asr, they sleep until Maghrib. This is considered good. And some of them, when they eat the pre-dawn meal, sleep until half an hour before sunset, then they get up and pray the missed prayers: Fajr, Dhuhr, and 'Asr, and they wait for Maghrib. We ask Allah for safety. Is the second one fasting? No, he is not fasting. I do not mean that he is not fasting in the sense that he must make up his fast. No, he is fasting in form, but he is not truly fasting. What does that mean? Glory be to Allah, you fast and you leave off prayer. Which is greater?
