Benefits of the Hadith of Sahl ibn Sa'd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And among the benefits of this hadith:
It clarifies the state of poverty and lack of wealth that the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were in, and it was indeed so. Most of the Muhajireen and the Ansar were poor, but among them were the great wealthy men.
And among the benefits of this hadith:
The marriage of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to any woman from his Ummah, by the saying of Allah the Exalted:
The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves النبي أولى بالمؤمنين من أنفسهم
[Al-Ahzab 33:6]
For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) married this woman without a guardian. He took on the guardianship, and there is no doubt that the guardianship of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) is the best guardianship, and that he is the best guardian and the most sincere guardian, peace and blessings be upon him.
And among the benefits of this hadith:
That it is permissible for the mahr (bridal gift) to be a benefit that the husband provides to the woman. So if a man says, "I will marry you my daughter on the condition that you build this house for me, and the materials are on the woman's guardian," there is no harm. This means that it is permissible for the mahr to be a benefit.
And among the benefits of this hadith:
That it is permissible to make the Noble Qur'an a compensation in marriage and other matters, meaning teaching the Qur'an. So if a man asks a person to teach him a surah from the Qur'an and he says, "Yes, I will teach it to you, but for one thousand riyals, for example," there is no harm. This is not taking compensation for reciting the Qur'an, but rather taking compensation for teaching the Qur'an. And taking compensation for teaching the Qur'an is permissible because it is taken for the teaching, not for the Noble Qur'an. Yes.
