Benefits of the hadith of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This hadith provides evidence for several benefits, among which are:
Acting based on circumstantial evidence, because when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the trace of saffron on him, he knew that he had gotten married, and for this reason he inquired about it.
And among them is the importance of the bridal gift, and therefore the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf, before anything else, what he had given her as a bridal gift. This indicates what we have mentioned previously, that a marriage without a bridal gift is not valid.
And among the benefits of this hadith is the wedding feast, meaning preparing a feast to which the groom invites whomever he wishes of his relatives and friends. However, he said "even if it is just a sheep," because 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) was wealthy.
As for what some people do today, holding grand feasts that consume large amounts of money, this is extravagance, an extravagance that should never be done. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said:
and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess. كلوا واشربوا ولا تسرفوا إنه لا يحب المسرفين
[Al-A'raf 7:31]
.
And what is prescribed is for a person to hold a feast according to his circumstances. That is, if he is wealthy, he increases the feast, and if he is poor, he does less than that. Yes.
