The questioner : This questioner, your brother 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Zulfi, says: I am a man, and my neighbor's pigeons come into my house and enter it, and as you know, they leave behind dirt and other things. I told my neighbor about these pigeons, asking him to keep them away from my home. He told me that they are birds and that he cannot prevent them. I said this to him several times, but it did not help. I ask you, O honorable Shaykh, is it permissible for me to kill these pigeons if they enter my house, or what should I do? Please issue a ruling for us, may Allah reward you, and may Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh : I see that you should reconcile with your neighbor in a way that is beneficial for everyone. You can buy them from him and make a place for them in your house, and you can benefit from their offspring or benefit from selling them. Because if you kill them, there will be problems, enmity, and hatred between you and your neighbor. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) advised treating the neighbor well. In fact, he (peace be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 47a and he said: Sahih Muslim 46 So, what I see is that you should reconcile with your neighbor, and each of you should remove from his heart any ill will or hatred toward the other.
And whoever seeks the truth, Allah will make it easy for him to reach it. Yes.
The questioner : May Allah bless you.
