How is the statement of Ibn 'Abbas that the Qur'an was revealed in one single unit reconciled?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Ask.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh, for clarifying the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him):
That the Qur'an was sent down in one single unit to the lowest heaven أن القرآن أنزل جملة واحدة إلى السماء الدنيا
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 25:8
?

The Shaykh : One does not feel at ease with this report, neither from the perspective of its chain of narration nor from the perspective of its meaning. The Noble Qur'an is what Allah spoke when He revealed it, and it is in the Preserved Tablet. This is what the Qur'an states:
(21) But this is an honored Qur'an (22) [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَجِيدٌ * فِي لَوْحٍ مَحْفُوظٍ
[Al-Buruj 85:21-22]
(77) Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an (78) In a Register well-protected; (79) None touch it except the purified. إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ * فِي كِتَابٍ مَكْنُونٍ * لا يَمَسُّهُ إِلاَّ الْمُطَهَّرُونَ
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:77-79]
This is the Preserved Tablet. As for its being sent down to the House of Glory in the lowest heaven, this requires an explicit text from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) himself. Yes.
