Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the virtue of spending in the path of Allah, specifically the virtue of spending wealth, as He said:
And among its benefits is that the charity of the usurper is invalid. From where is it taken? Because the usurper does not own the wealth with which he gives charity, so his charity is not accepted.
And among its benefits is the indication of the condemnation of stinginess, as He said: Did you acquire the wealth through your own earning? No, the One who gave you the wealth is Allah. He did not say: "From what they earned," but rather He said: And even what a person earns is through Allah's facilitation. How many people have knocked on the doors of sustenance from every side but were not successful. So, among the benefits of this noble verse is the virtue of spending. However, here He was general, or rather, He summarized the matter of what is spent in. He said: Meaning, He specified what is spent from, but did not specify what is spent in. We say, yes, but it is specified in many verses. [Al-Baqarah 2:215] The answer is: [Al-Baqarah 2:215] It is as if He said: Ask about what you spend? Yes, ask in what you spend? [Al-Baqarah 2:215] About what? Say, O people, what do they spend? What do they spend? So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: [Al-Baqarah 2:215] Thus He specified what is spent in, because that is the important part. Many people may give away half of their wealth, but in the path of the tyrant. The beneficial thing is in the path of Allah, meaning in what pleases Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
But it may be said that His saying:[Al-Baqarah 2:215] Someone might say that in it is an indication of what is spent from, which is that the spending should be good. In any case, the verse here is summarized; Allah summarized the spending in it: So it is summarized, and it is said that this summary is clarified in other texts from the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Has the time ended? Yes.
