The Importance of Reflecting on the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
And the Wise Qur'an, in truth, when a person reflects upon it, he increases — Glory be to Allah — in insight, knowledge, and light. However, it requires a condition that the Shaykh al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) pointed to. He said in *al-'Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah* — and what do you know of it as a creed! — he said: "Whoever reflects upon the Qur'an seeking guidance from it, the path of truth becomes clear to him". He made the conditions: reflection and good intention, seeking guidance from it. That is, not seeking dominance, such that he wants to overpower others, for example, or seeking to satisfy his own desires, hoping to find in the Qur'an what supports his opinion. This may be forbidden, may Allah protect us from it. But whoever reflects upon it seeking guidance from it, the path of truth becomes clear to him, and he finds in it knowledge, understanding, and the rectification of hearts that a person cannot describe. We ask Allah to make us and you among its people. Amen. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad.
