Like a rock, the great stone. The Qur'an softens it, but we need to contemplate. Read a line of the Qur'an and contemplate it with understanding, and you will find your heart dyed with this Noble Qur'an and softened by the remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). But most of us, and I am among them—I ask Allah to treat me and you with His forgiveness—we read it rapidly for what purpose? To complete a recitation? To read our assigned portion that we have decided on for each day? But read the Qur'an with contemplation, or at least differently from your usual reading. That is, sit in a corner of the mosque or in your home, take the mushaf, and contemplate some verses, and you will find something wonderful. Keep your regular reading as it is. But contemplation opens the heart, by Allah, and a person finds a delicious taste of the Qur'an and great meanings that no one knows except Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and those whom Allah opens up.
