Continuation of the benefits of the verse: “And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed to Our servant, then bring forth a surah of the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah if you are truthful”

And among the benefits of this noble verse is that the Qur'an is a miracle even in a single surah, even if it is short, due to His saying: And Allah the Exalted challenged them to bring forth a surah like it, and to bring forth ten surahs like it, and He informed that no one would be able to bring forth anything like this Qur'an, even if all of mankind and the jinn were to gather together. The least of what we know is that they would not be able to bring forth a hadith like it, meaning even a single sentence; they would not be able to do so. Allah the Exalted said: And the term "hadith" applies to a sentence, even if it is small. Accordingly, the challenge is on four levels: with the entire Qur'an, with ten surahs from it, with one surah, and with a hadith. And among the benefits of this noble verse is the challenge of these worshippers of idols along with their idols, and this is more humiliating than if they had been challenged alone. It is as if He is saying, "You and your idols, bring forth a surah of the like thereof." And this is the most extreme form of humiliation, degradation, disgrace, and shame.
