The Meaning of His Saying, "Or do they say, 'He composed it'? Rather, they do not believe. So let them bring a statement like it, if they are truthful."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then He, the Exalted, said:
(32) Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? (33) Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. أم تأمرهم أحلامهم بهذا أم هم قوم طاغون أم يقولون تقوله
[At-Tur 52:32-33]
meaning that he attributed it to Allah, even though he was lying about Allah, the Exalted. Allah, the Exalted, said:
Rather, they do not believe. (34) Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. بل لا يؤمنون فليأتوا بحديث مثله إن كانوا صادقين
[At-Tur 52:33-34]
if they are truthful that you composed it and that it is from your speech, then you are a human being. And if you are a human being and this is from your speech which you attributed to Allah, then let them bring a statement like it. The lam here is for a command intended to demonstrate their inability, but they were unable and did not bring a statement like it. This indicates that this Qur'an is the speech of Allah and not the speech of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
