Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (So let them bring a statement like it, if they are truthful)]
Then He challenged them,So he said:
Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
[Surat al-Tur: 34] meaning: If you are the one who composed it, then you are like them, a human being who speaks as they speak, preaches as they preach, and says as they say. So if you are the one who composed it and it is from you, let them bring a statement like it; for humans can produce speech that resembles the speech of other humans. So if Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) composed it, then bring something like it. (So let them) The lam here is for command, and the intended meaning is challenge and incapacitation.
produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
[At-Tur 52:34]
This is the ultimate challenge. They were unable and could not bring a statement like it, even though they were the princes of eloquence and the sultans of clarity, yet they were unable. So what does their inability indicate? It indicates that the Qur'an is not the speech of humans, but rather it is the speech of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And for this he said:
Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
[At-Tur 52:34]
And despite the strength of their opposition and the strength of their eloquence and clarity, they were unable to bring a statement like it, and they could not. So that indicates that Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), did not compose it, and they were unable to bring something like it.

And in His saying:
Then let them produce a statement like itفَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِثْلِهِ
[At-Tur 52:34]
The word: (statement) is indefinite, and the indefinite indicates generality,But in another verse, Allah said:
Say, "Then bring forth a surah like itقُلْ فَأْتُوا بِسُورَةٍ مِثْلِهِ
[Surat Yunus: 38] ,
Or do they say, "He invented it"? Say, "Then bring ten surahs like it that have been inventedأَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِعَشْرِ سُوَرٍ مِثْلِهِ مُفْتَرَيَاتٍ
[Surat Hud: 13] And in another verse, it is reported that no one will be able to oppose the Qur'an,So Allah the Exalted said:
Say, "If mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like of itقُلْ لَئِنِ اجْتَمَعَتِ الْأِنْسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَى أَنْ يَأْتُوا بِمِثْلِ هَذَا الْقُرْآنِ لا يَأْتُونَ بِمِثْلِهِ
[Surat al-Isra: 88] even if they cooperate? And for this he said:
even if they were to each other assistants."وَلَوْ كَانَ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ ظَهِيراً
[Surat al-Isra: 88] It is now clear that their claim that he composed it is false; for Allah challenged them to bring something like it, but they were unable.
Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
[Surat al-Tur: 34] meaning: If they are truthful in their claim that you composed it, let them bring a statement like it.
