The questioner : This questioner, O honorable Shaykh, is from Riyadh. In his first question, he says: It is said that when a disbeliever is placed in the grave and Munkar and Nakir come to him in terrifying and frightening forms, does the believer see Munkar and Nakir in the same form in which the disbeliever sees them? Please inform us. May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : It is well known that the believer and the disbeliever are not equal in what concerns the punishment and bliss of the grave. The believer is granted bliss in his grave, it is widened for him, light is illuminated for him, and a door to Paradise is opened for him. As for the disbeliever, he is punished in his grave, it is constricted for him until his ribs differ, may Allah protect us from that, and a door to the Fire is opened for him.
As for the questioning at the time of the inquiry, the deceased is visited by two angels who ask him about three things: his Lord, his religion, and his Prophet. As for the believer, he says: My Lord is Allah, my religion is Islam, and my Prophet is Muhammad. As for the one who is in doubt, he says: Ah, ah, I do not know. I heard people saying something, so I said it. This is the extent of what I have regarding the answer to this question.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
